Woodlands 2012 – 22-24 June
One of the highlights of the One Church year is our weekend away at Woodlands Family Theme Park, Devon. Two nights under canvas combining all the fun of the park with quality fellowship and laughter for all ages. It’s a great place to make new friends, get to know each other – with plenty of barbecues to keep us chatting into the night!
We’ll be going this year from Fri 22 – Sun 24 June.
So, whether you’re new to the Church or a regular ‘Woodlander’, book your pitch online using the form below, and pay at the Information Desk. You can bring your tent, trailer or caravan. The price includes a pitch for up to five people – £52 with electric hook-up, £46 without. If you have more than five people on the pitch, it will cost an extra £5.50 per additional person. You MUST provide the dimensions of your unit when you book (in feet). Booking (including payment) must be made by 27 May. The booking for each unit must include at least one person over 18 years old.
Note: the booking form below will collect information about your booking (number of people, size of tent etc.) – once you have completed that information, you must pay at the Info Desk to complete your booking.
Recommended Book – Amplified Leadership
By Dan Reiland
Dan Reiland has not only been there, done that and got the t-shirt, he has reinvented the t-shirt and repackaged it in such
a way that even those of us with expanding waistlines look good in it! Dan is the ultimate leadership coach and this is his handbook. A guarded secret for decades and now available for us all!
Amplified Leadership is practical, down to earth, easy to read, “idiots guide to leadership” and, quite frankly, a must read
for all inspiring leaders and those who want to take their teams to the next level.
I found his step by step guide into releasing your team refreshing and an excellent check list into how I’m growing the
leaders of One Church. Well worth the read.

Transformation
Sunday 20 May, 6-8.30pm
This is another great opportunity for you and your guests to join us for a relaxing evening in a ‘Starbucks’ style environment with lovely cakes,
hot drinks, chilled out music and incredible stories of the power of God to transform lives! You’ll hear stories from:
- someone who left a broken home at 16 to join the police force, overcame major illness, serious assaults, car crashes and more to
become a successful family man with a hugely responsible job in the county through the power and grace of God. - a lady, raised a Catholic, who got into clubbing, drinking, sleeping around and at 18 knew life was going nowhere. Went back to
church and discovered a life-changing relationship with Jesus! - a couple who personally found security in relationship with Christ and of how God took them on an incredible journey in unexpected
directions through their desire to have a family.
No guests to bring along? You can ‘try before you buy’ once only if you’re a church regular.
YOU NEED TO BE THERE TO SEE WHAT YOU COULD OFFER TO YOUR FRIENDS!
So, sign up below or at the info desk. Last day for signing up is 18 MAY.

Recommended Book – ‘Leading On Empty’
by Wayne Cordeiro
Wayne Cordeiro is the Senior Pastor and founder of New Hope Christian Fellowship – a huge church in Honolulu, Hawaii (tough job but someone has to do it
) that has seen incredible growth since it started in 1983.
But this book isn’t five easy steps to build a megachurch. Neither is it a collection of blog posts from a successful pastor. It’s a book domcumenting a man’s journey who saw success in his ministry but at great cost to his health. A few years ago, with the church at its peak, Wayne hit burn out and hit it hard. The book tells the story of how he got to that point, and offers practical, scientific and spiritual reasons how it can happen to any leader. Most importantly, he maps out some simple steps that might just save us from the same mistakes.
One analogy that has stuck in my mind is to consider all the areas of your life as juggling balls – some are bouncy and some are made of glass. The trick is learning it’s ok to drop the bouncy ones sometimes if it means keeping the glass ones alive.
Leading on Empty is an easy read, and although written from the experience of a senior pastor it’s full of pracitcal advice for anyone in a leadership postition both in ministry or workplace.

Recommended Book – ‘Who Switched off my Brain?’
Dr Caroline Leaf
At last a book that scientifically backs up scripture! You can change your future by changing the way you think! But in the context of Christ’s work on the cross.
Proverbs 23:7a tells us “For as he thinks in his heart, so he is”
Your thoughts are your body’s SATNAV. The starting point of your actions. Advertisers will spend millions of pounds to grab your attention by targeting your sensory patterns so that you will buy their product.
Think of a fat opera singer with a curly moustache and you are automatically thinking of…
…go compare.
If you can change your thinking, you can change your feelings. If you can change your feelings, you can change your actions. And changing your actions – based on your thinking – can change your life.
This book helps you unlock your unhealthy thinking patterns and line them up with the word of God. Renew your thinking.
Switch your brain back on.
